Unsere Reise führte uns durch den Mittleren Atlas, vorbei an idyllischen Dörfern und atemberaubenden Landschaften, bis nach Erfoud, dem Tor zur Wüste Sahara. Unser erster Halt war der idyllische Erholungsort Ifrane, der aufgrund seiner Architektur und seines milden Klimas auch als „die Schweiz Marokkos“ bezeichnet wird. Auch eine Elite-Universität gibt es in diesem Ort. Der Höhepunkt waren aber die Makaken, die man toll fotografieren konnte. Lästig waren nur die Reiter, die ihre Pferde als Fotomotive aufdrängten und dann frech Geld dafür verlangten. Die Landschaft war zwar abwechslungsreich, aber irgendwann interessiert sie einen nicht mehr. Es gab auch wieder weniger Grün, dafür viel Steinwüste. Mittagessen gab es in einem gemütlichen Riad an der Straße. Es war echt lauschig und auch recht gut – endlich mal etwas mehr typisch Marokkanisches. Als Arbeiter möchte ich dort nicht leben, wenn man sich das Angestelltenzimmer unten ansieht. Was auffällt: Fast jedes Hotel und Riad hat auch einen Campingplatz. Tolles Land für Wohnmobile. Er wurde in den späten 1920er Jahren innerhalb weniger Monate von vierzig Legionären erbaut und ist nach wie vor die spektakulärste Demonstration des Know-hows der Bauherren der Fremdenlegion. Der Hohe Atlas, die höchste Gebirgskette Nordafrikas, lag rechts von uns. Atemberaubende Ausblicke auf schneebedeckte Gipfel und tiefe Schluchten säumten unseren Weg. An der Ziz-Schlucht, einer beeindruckenden Schluchtformation, hielten wir an, um die Kraft der Natur zu bestaunen. **Ankunft in Erfoud und optionaler Ausflug in die Wüste** Am späten Nachmittag erreichten wir schließlich Erfoud, dann musste es RuckZuck gehen. Koffer rein ins Hotel und umsteigen in den Geländewagen. Den optionalen Ausflug zu den Sanddünen von Merzouga haben wir am Vortag gebucht, wussten nicht das es so stressig wird. In einem Geländewagen fuhren wir durch die beeindruckende Landschaft der Wüste und erlebten den Sonnenuntergang über den Dünen. Leider trübten die aufdringlichen Verkäufer etwas den Spaß. Ich verstehe es zwar, aber beim Fotografieren möchte ich meine Ruhe haben. Aber trotzdem war es eine geniale Stimmung: die Dünen, das Schattenspiel, die Touristen auf den Kamelen. Wir haben die vielfältigen Landschaften Marokkos kennengelernt und die atemberaubende Schönheit der Natur bewundert. Diesmal waren bei jedem Stopp und bei den Sehenswürdigkeiten viele Straßenverkäufer da.
